Today we wrote a letter to the Editor of Gisborne's News papers.
We told them about how we would like them to spray the black berry and mow the long grass so that we can plant more native trees, plants and bushes .
I enjoyed writing the letter.
My learning object shows that I write letters.
Here is my letter :
GÖe moira Editor,
St Mary is a Green Gold Enviroschool. We have been trying to keep our Rerenga Awa (River Garden) clean and are trying to encourage native birds and insects to come to our garden down by the awa. But it’s hard because we can’t plant any more trees or native plants because the Council has stopped mowing and now there is blackberry in the way. We have called the Council and asked if they could spray the blackberry and mow the all the tall grass so that we can plant more native trees, plants and bushes. Some people have visited them. Someone has used the Fix It app. But there was no response to any of this. We need to plant trees close to the Rerenga Awa to provide shade to encourage freshwater creatures to come and live there. We also want to provide places for native birds and insects to stay at our Rerenga Awa. I firmly believe the Council should come and spray the blackberry and mow the tall grass so St Mary’s School can keep planting native trees and bushes for our wildlife.
Yours sincerely,
Morgan
