Tracey Tawhiao Art Work

This week we have been doing our Tracey Tawhiao art work.

I enjoyed painting and combinding colours.

I found it challenging to do the small designs because the pastel was too big.

My learning object shows that I can present my culture in art form.

Firstly we had to pick out a newspaper that had words that meant something to us.

Then we had to paint around the words we wanted to keep.

After that we put patterns of our culture. My culture is Maori.

Did you know  she is a writer, poet, filmmaker, qualified lawyer and a practising artist.

Ru Ru art

 This week we have been doing are Ru Ru art.

I enjoyed doing the face because we got to do the eyes really big.

I found it challenging to do the designs because I had to think of new māori patterns.

My learning object shows that I can do Ru Ru art.

Henri Matisse

We were learning about Henri Matisse.
He was good friends with Pablo Picasso. He was born on December 31 1869 and died 3 November 1954.
We had to use primary colours and white or black to make the colours we wanted. We had  to blend the white to show light direction.
I found it challenging to blend the white to do the light direction.
My  learning object shows that I can give things a go.
