ANZAC Poppy

Today I was making an ANZAC poppy. The ANZAC poppy is an international symbol of war remembrance, and is usally worn in New Zealand on ANZAC day.  The red of the petals represents the blood of the soldiers who lost their lives. The black in the middle represents the mourning of those who lost their loved ones. The green leaf represents hope.
I enjoyed creating this ANZAC poppy to remember all the soldiers that have fallen.
I found it challenging beacause we didnt have any red paint so I had to use what we had around the house. I found some red wrapping paper and cut it into pieces for the petals.
Next time I would try and not get my finger's sticky from all the glue.

Items I Used

  • Red wrapping paper
  • A gluestick
  • A branch from a tree
  • Black paint
  • Paint brush
  • sissors
  • Cardboard
  • Pencil for tracing
