Extinct Animal Report

The past few weeks we have been doing our extinct New Zealand animal report.

Our success cirteria was to...

sequence ideas in order

stick to one topic in each paragraph

use line breaks between paragraphs.

I highlighted my work yellow to show I have done all of my success criteria. Next time I would try to describe it more.

I enjoyed writing about the laughing owl because they are very interesting.

I found it challenging to find information.

My learning object shows that I can research about an New Zealand extinct animal.

Report writiing

WALT- Unpack reports.
This week we were learning about reports and unpacking them but first we had to cut them up so that we didn't know the order. We had to stick them to a piece of paper and find all the spelling mistakes that our teacher purposely put in. We made sure the paragrpahs were on one topic.
I enjoyed finding all the words spelt wrong.
I found it challenging to glue the pieces of paper of the report on to the coloured paper.
My learning object shows the I can unpack a report.
Our report was about Lions. Here is a dynamic fact. 
In Swahili, Simba means lion.

June Student Reflection

Today I was doing my June Student Reflection.

I enjoyed Reflecting on my work this month.

I found it challenging to work out how many points my team got for group points.

Matariki

Matariki

What is Matariki?

Matariki is a time for New Zealanders and other countries to celebrate Matariki.

When it is nearly the time for Matariki, New Zealanders can harvest their crops ready for Matariki.

Matariki Legend

One of the legends is when Matariki fell in love in the sky  and had babies (shes a star by the way and she is the star of hope and health and wellbeing )

And her first child wasPōhutukawa

Pōhutukawa is the star of connected to the one who have passed away. 

Then Matariki had Tupuānuku.

Tupuānuku is the star connected with everything that grows in the soil  to be harvested or just gathered for food ready to eat.

Then came Tupuārangi.

Tupuārangi is the star connected with the trees and thing that grow on the tree and with the tree like birds , fruit  and berries.

And she had more and more.

The 9 sisters 

I have already told you about Pōhutukawa , Tupuānuku,  Tupuārangi and Matariki but Matariki is the mum but we still call it the 9 sister.

I have told you four stars but I still got to tell you the other five.

The twins Waitā and Waitī . But Waitī is the oldest out of both of them.

Waitī is connected with fresh rivers and food sources within.

Waitā is associated with the ocean and seafood.

Two down three to go.

Waipuna-ā-Rangi.

Waipuna-ā-Rangi is connected with the rain.

Ururangi is the star connected with the wind.

Last one.

Hiwa-i-te-Rangi  is the star connected with granting our wishes and our aspirations.

Now I will tell you about Dr. Matamua.

Dr. Matamua was a Māori astronomer he has been researching stars for over 30 years.

Dr. Matamua was the one who found out that there was nine stars and not seven.

Ahmet's Journey - Comic Strip

This week we were learning how to create a comic strip. We had to use speech bubbles, maps, text boxes and pictures.
I enjoyed remaking the book that we are reading into a comic.
I found it challenging to  find out where to put the speech bubbles.

Gravity

This week we were learning about gravity.
I enjoyed writing about gravity.
I found it challenging to write about the boink.
My digital learning object shows that I can reflect and brain storm on my learning.

Gravity-What happens after you jump?

So say if you won the lottery and you won  a lot of moneyIf you were like meYou would jump up and down. But why do we go back down to the ground and not fly up into space ? 

The force: A natural pool of an object towards each other (Not from Star Wars) .

Did you know that without gravity there will be no air and no air means no us! So thank you gravity .

Here is something you might want to know about the force . Force: A pull or push act against an object move or change direction . 

Did you know gravity Is like invisible super glue holding us down ? 

One day My class and I got a science kit all about gravity If you don't know what a science kit is is a kit full of activities learning about gravity And there are also different science kits about the different things . but in the gravity science kit there were boinks and dropper poppers. I first got a boink. A boink is a spring action toy and next I got a  dropper popper and a dropper popper you have to turn This bowl shape inside out  and it would be Building up with power And when you drop it all the power will release But before you drop it you can put a ping pong ball in and then when you drop the ping pong ball Well go flying high in the sky and then  gravity will eventually pull it back down 

Did you know gravity is the cause for all unsupported objects falling down ?

One day Sir Isaac Newton was sitting under tree thinking but mainly sleeping. Then all of a sudden and apple fell onto his head Full stop then he thought why didn't the apple fall down and not go up ? So what happens after you jump in the air ? Well gravity will pull you like other objects , So try jumping and see how long you can stay in the air for.

Did you know when you throw a ball to your left or to your right the ball is always going to come down.

Homophones

Today I was learning to recognise homophones.
I enjoyed getting to learn how to tell there, their and they're.
I found it challenging to tell them apart at first because they sounded the same.
My learning object shows that I can now tell there, their and they're apart.

Day at Movie World

Today we were learning about how to hook in the reader.
I enjoyed writing about my Australia memories.
I found it challenging to use adjectives.
My learning object shows that I can use juicy verbs. 
Next time I would try not to use said to many times.

Day at Movie World

As I jumped off the roller coaster my hair was all frizzed up. When I looked to the right I saw fast rides zooming past me. Then when I looked to the left I saw a shaved ice stand.I begged my mum to bye me and my brother one  and she said “only if you clean your room”. I said back to  her  “ I promise “ . When we  walked to the shaved ice stand we saw my favourite Villain Harley  Quinn .’Hmm I never thought that Harley Quinn would be here but we were in Movie World in Australia so I’m going to get a photo with her. Looking at my mum with my puppy eyes she asked me what I was planning and what did I want. I said to her “can I please pretty please  take a photo with Harley Quinn ? “  she looked at me with an annoyed face. She said to me “ fine but we gotta go quick so that we don't lose a spot in line “. Then when I heard that I grabbed her wrist violently we zoomed past people , bumping and accidentally shoving them we made it when we got the photo we went zooming back though the crowd and got our spot back . The shaved ice was so divine that I wanted a second one  I wish could go back to Australia again.

Mystery story.

Today for writing we had to write a mystery story.
I enjoyed writing my own part of the explorer.
I found it challenging to come up with a new scenario.
My digital learning object shows that I can re- imagine stories.
Next time I would do one of the scenarios that were already on the sheet.

My lockdown diary part 27 and 28.

Today I am doing my lockdown diary part 27 and 28. 
I enjoyed creating a poem for my Mum.
I found it challenging to make my poem rhyme because my words were not flowing.
My digital learning object shows that I can make different desinged backgrounds.  
Next time I would add more to the first google drawing because it is very plain but has got a nice background.

This week I have been working on my Mothers Day activity.
I enjoyed this activity because it was all about my Mum and I love her.
I found it challenging to find a photo of my Mum that I was aloud to use.

My lockdown diary part 25 and 26

Today I am doing my lockdown diary part 25 and 26. 
I enjoyed sharing with you how to make the fijoa ice cream. 
I found it challenging to find a new coloured background because I ran out of ideas.
My digital learning object shows that I can add images to my blog to make it more interesting. 
Next time I would try make the second google slide look more eye catching to the readers because it looks plain the way it is. Sometimes I do think plain is best so my page is not over crowded.

Today I am doing my lockdown diary part 23 and 24. 
I enjoyed telling you about my days events on the second google drawing.
I found it challenging to remeber what I have in the pantry.
My digital learning object shows that I can plan out my days events from when I get to when I go to bed.
Next time I would add a shopping list on the first google drawing, I wanted to add one but, I had run out of space.

Today I was doing my lockdown diary part 21 and 22.
I enjoyed making the photo frames on the second google drawing because it was different.
I found it challenging to make the penicl on the google drawing because it was very small.
My digital learning object shows  that I can reflect on my learning and see what needs working on.
Next time I would add more detail to the first google drawing.

Today I was doing my lockdown diary part 19 and 20.
I enjoyed creating the images of my writing on the first google drawing because I explored more with my shapes and tried different shapes to see what one would fit best.
I found it challenging to pick someone in my bubble to write a message to.
My digital learning object shows that I am becoming more creative with shapes. 
Next time I would add more colour to the second google drawing.

Today I was learning about how a circuit works.
I found it challenging to explain in words how an electrical circuit works. 
My digital learning object shows that I can explain how something works.
Next time I would add colour to my blog to make it more interesting. I added a small amount of colour though.

My lockdown diary part 17 and 18.

Today I was doing my lockdown diary part 17 and 18 for writing.
I enjoyed creating both of my google drawing's background's because I like to try new things and use my imagination in my work.
I found it challenging to find some new font's because I couldnt decide what fonts to use.   
My digital learning object shows that I am steping up because I have found out a new way to do the  background.  
Next time I would try a different coloured pattern.
How you get the different pattern background.
1.Open a google drawing 
2. Do a two finger click
3. Click Background
4. Under type, it should say linear
5.Click linear
6.Now click radial
7.Then add your colour and the first colour you add will be in a circle in the middle
