Goal setting.

Today I was doing my goal settings for 2020.
This is my goals sheet for the whole year it says...
To build a relationship with God by:
Praying by myself at home.
Listening to God’s call - By doing the right thing.
Being kind like Jesus and give old clothes to the poor.
Being a friend to everyone and include everyone.

Whanau can support me by… Taking me to Sunday Mass.
In the next box it says...
To help people to make new friends.
Whanau can support me by... keeping me involved in clubs and school events.
To be more like Hinehakirirangi and take risks with my learning.
3 box it says
Whanau can support me by… encouraging me to challenge myself in my  learning and supporting me with healthy positive encouragement. Talking with me about risks  that I can take in my learning and helping me to feel safe doing so.
lucky last box
To improve math skills 3 and 4x tables
Whanau can support me by...including these into my homework routine each week.

My lenten promises.

Lent is about almsgiving (giving to the poor),Fasting(giving up stuff you really love) and praying(like praying for the poor and sick)
I promise to put money in the Caritas box because other people need it more than me.
Today I was learning about lent.
I enjoyed writing about lent and coloring in.
I found it challenging to find what I love and to give it up.

Next time I would change some colors.

Making huts

Making huts
When I was little (and I still am) I used to play hide and seek, tag and climb
trees
Dive through the tough strong waves then go to my Nan's house and paint Rocks.
But most of all I like making huts.
So one day my teacher said ‘’let's make huts today’’ the whole class was I guess you can
say surprised even though we all knew there we were going to make huts today.
First things first we got all the sheets we needed but how did we get some the teacher
randomly pulled out
some sheets,blankets and cloths.
But Willy was the only one prepared. He brought a really long sheet but it was like a blanket.
So we got to work moving our desk and smashing into one another's desks and when all the
desks were in place  shaping what the huts would look like.
There were three groups that had combined and had a massive hut.
We started off with putting all the blankets on then pegging them but they were to heavy so
we waded them down with Bibles.
Then we finished and everyone zoomed in. Five minutes later thats when all the drama happened
‘’Hey you've had your turn with that dinosaur’’
 ‘’No I have not’’
‘’Yes you have’’
‘’ Have not’’
‘’Have to’’
‘’Have not’’
It was really noisy it hurt my ear drums but then Mrs Naden said its time to pack Your huts
the whole class was devastated but at least it was not loud anymore I was wrong it went loud
straight away but all I could hear was all the desks moving.
It  took a while to clean up but we managed to finish.

The End

Paoa and Kiwa.

On  Wednsday 12 february 2020.
We went to room 10 at our school  to see a visitor who had came from the Tairāwhiti Museum to talk about the Horouta waka, a story about Paoa and Kiwa who sailed to Hawaikii
with kumara to plant. When they finally got to hawaikii they found  that the waka had broken because a
sand dune has broken the waka so Paoa went to
go look for the right kind of wood and Kiwa waited for Paoa to bring back the wood and as he waited for
Paoa he named the place he was waiting Turanganui-a-kiwa{The waiting place of Kiwa}.
Paoa found the haumi they needed to fix the waka he found it on Maunga Haumi this is where Maunga
Haumi got its name. When Paoa found the right wood he floted with it down the Waipaoa river.
When Paoa gave Kiwa the wood Kiwa made miner repares. When the boat was fixed Paoa and Kiwa set sail.
to Gisborne. And when we were there we did some sand art and we made a waka but its not the exact same
as the waka Horouta because it only has one horrua.
The waka we made was made out of long peacies of bark and two kabarb stickes with two peacies of fabricke.
But first we did sand art and the Korka gave us a sheet to put glue on and it had a waka on it so we would put the glue on the lines but you dont full it in you just do the out lines and then we moved on to the wakas when we had fineshed our wakas she would give us a ipad and we would have to scan a bar code then it would take us to google earth and tell us about the stroy of Paoa and Kiwa.

This is the sand art.
